RCA 50" Projector screen whirs when i plug it in but it does not come on. any advice?

This morning we went to pick up a TV at my brothers friends house but before we could pick it up it began to rain. Brought it home, dried it off, and doesnt turn on. i plugged it in once and saw a blue spark in the back corner. thinking that it finally kicked on i pushed the power button again but no dice. Took the back panel off and now im just looking at wonderin what i need to do next.

I invited eleven of my old university friends round for a flat warming tomorrow evening. Eight people said they would come but now five of them have cancelled on me either yesterday or this morning. I get on really well with two of the three who are coming and fairly well with the third. Where do I put oil to oil my sewing machine? The bobbin isn't winding just "whirring".?

I have a basic sewing machine, Brother XL 2230 and the bobbin won't wind, it just whirrs...but sounds as though it needs lubrication in there somewhere. I don't know where to oil it though. The manual has no instructions, I tried to take off the casing but couldn't get it apart even though I'd taken out all the screws. I read on another site that there are often holes in the casing of sewing machines where you squirt the oil in..but just a little. Should I try this?

You need to change your brakes when brakes get to a certain wear point they have a little piece of metal and it scrapes against you rotor and makes a scratching or squeaking sound if you drive on them for too long you will need to buy new rotors for your car too and they aren't that cheap so get em replaced good luck

I have a noise coming from my tire when I reach 40-45 MPH, what could it be?

I changed the tire thinking that it would go away, I have a 2008 Toyota Yaris, my alignment doesn't seem to be off, when I reach 40-45 mph I begin hearing a whirring sound coming from the drivers side front tire. Hard to explain but it isn't on-going. (vuum..vuum..vuum..vuum) If I go faster or slower it goes away. I thought it was a bearing but the Auto Tech at Bell Tire said that my bearings look fine, I do need to replace a tire on my car but the noise doesn't seem to be origination from there. I insert a CD and my laptop reads it and plays it completely fine, if i insert a DVD my laptop clicks and whirs and nothing happens. I click on the drive and it just opens the drive and tells me to insert a disk into the drive. 2 disks stuck in Macbook disc slot?

So a few months ago, I got a disk stuck in the slot. After ejecting it a HUNDRED times, all I could here was this horrific whirring sound. I tried every eject command, and it didn't work. I put a piece of cardboard in it and felt no disk at all. So thinking there was no disc, I put another one in. I think that it pushed the discs all the way to the end of the computer! Is that possible? HOW DO I GET THE DISCS OUT???

99 Cougar sunroof not working?

Ok, i have just recently purchased a 99 cougar, it has a problem with the sunroof. Now i am aware of all of the common problems with the sunroof (specifically the defective/stupid engineering of it) but my problem is not the holds being broken or anything, it just does not work. i hit the switch and nothing happens, not a whir, crack, smack, pop, or anything. i think it may be the wiring of the switch, or possibly a blown fuse, the switch to the roof has 5 wires going to it (any links to which wires go to what plugins would be great) so that may be it, possibly just wired incorrectly. Of course i can check the manual will have which fuses are what so ill check for that, but a diagram or something for the wires going to the switch itself would be appreciated, or any other suggestions on what it could be. What is causing a sound in my 2003 chevy malibu?

RAM Problem with a Laptop?

Hey Guys! would really appreciate some help here! i have a Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Laptop here and i tried to remove the RAM and upgrade it from 500MB to 1GB and the Laptop wouldnt turn on without the power cable so i removed the newly added RAM and reverted back to the old 256MB and now the same problem is Occuring!!! the Laptop will turn on and whirl and do its bit but it will show nothing on the monitor at all, it begins by flashing the plug in button and then it evens out but the Laptop itself appears to not be responding...however the monitor is showing nothing and the Disk tray is whirring a bit too!! I NEED HELP!! ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS??

Laptop fan started making a loud noise... is there an easy fix?

I've had my toshiba satellite laptop for about a year now and just last night the fan started making an extremely loud whirring noise as soon as I turn the laptop on. The computer's performance has seemed to have gotten worse as a result; it now takes minutes to just sign into my user. I bought compressed air and tried spraying around where the fan is and into it though I am unable to take the top off. Is there anything I can easily try or should I just take it to a professional? Pipes running in ceilings are often not lagged and if you have an upstairs room where the floor is laminated you will hear more noise from any movements as compared to a room carpeted which dampens the sound. My 2004 Impala Trunk Won't open, why?

Tuesday, on my way to work it was raining a little, so when I got to work, I opened up my trunk and took out my umbrella. I had an appointment to get my brakes worked on later that day at the Raben across the street. On my break I dropped it off and walked back blah blah useless info. I get the car back, everything seems fine. Brakes are better, I'm happy. Until today. I needed to put something in my trunk, and when I hit the button on my remote, and I heard a whir, but nothing happened. I tried a button on the insde, same noise, no dice. I tried the key, and it wouldn't budge.I tried pushing down on the lid and various other tricks with no dice. My trunk is not very full so I doubt something is in the way, and there are no visible signs of damage where something hit me and perhaps put anything out of line. If memory serves me correctly, I remember hearingsometimes cars fall of the lifts at mechanics, and while it may land on its tires safely, it can do all sorts of crazy damage. So, in your expert opinion, was this in all likelyhood caused at the mechanic? Should I make them fix it, in light of the fact they might screw me again? Can I fix it on my own? If it was really dropped, what else might I want to check for damage?

Well, one possibility is that your transmission clutches are slipping so that the engine RPM goes higher in sound, but you don't accelerate due to the transmission slippage. If you have over 130,000 miles on an automatic transmission, it's days are numbered, especially if you never had the transmission serviced according to your owner's manual. You could bring the truck into the dealer shop and have them remove the transmission pan to see if the friction clutch material is building up as sludge in the pan, a sure sign of transmission failure. Otherwise you'll get a transmission fluid and filter change for about $120. Read your owner's manual on how to properly add transmission fluid (hot engine idling in park) because low level transmission fluid causes transmission slipping etc. You need a special transmission fluid narrow neck funnel to add fluid directly into the transmission dipstick tube. DON't overfill!!

Why is my computer heating up so fast?

I've got a lenovo laptop with about 100GB free space (full capacity is 254GB), I shut down all the programs like games, vuze and anything. Hi! There is probably something like a piece of dust covering or making the disk sensor stuck (which this checks if there is a cd in there, and how many are in there. Some macbooks tell you if something is wrong. Others don't. Just take compressed air and blow it in, it shouldn't hurt it. Good luck!

How to Remove Stuck MiniDv Cassette from Canon Elura Camcorder?

Subject says it all really... I have a Canon Elura camcorder which plays/records on MiniDv cassettes. One of the tapes is now stuck in the cassette sleeve. Van 1st time starter and just had fullservice, and then put into reputable auto electricians to see why speedo not working correctly. They rang the next day, and said the speedo head not working, and needing replacement. I told them to put back as was, and I would look or replacement, when I got there and paid I was asked had I had problems starting the vehicle, and I told them never,as they had, and after checking battery power they tried the key again and it started. I got in and drove home, and left it in carport overnight. When I went out to it the next day and put key ignition panel lit up for asecond and everything then went off,ignition,radio,lights,indicators,haz… Yet when I flick foglight switch high pitched whistle can be heard coming from behind intrument cluster,when I turn off switch it stops. Also speedo needle whirs round to 180kph then comes back eventually. Do you think the auto electricians have nipped something or put terminals back incorrectlywhen putting back instrument cluster. No fuses are blown, and battery has 12.94 charge in it. This happened good friday morning, and they do not open until tuesday, as you can guess I am having a wonderful easter holiday. This was a minibus with tachograph whic is not used anymore, after it was converted to campervan.

I have windows 7 and often have rsbot running minmized overnight. The starter works fine occasionally, so that's not it. A bad starter does not work on occasion. Bad starters usually do not work period. The old battery checked out, but you replaced it anyway. Plus you used your truck battery to try. So having used three good batteries, we know for sure it is not a battery problem. "When I try to crank it, it does not start immediately" "My wife holds the key in start position until it cranks". Based on those comments it is most likely a bad ignition switch on the steering column. $150 for both the part and one hour minimum shop time.

Is there something wrong with the fan in my laptop?

I sent my laptop away to have the motherboard replaced.. which they later said wasn't necessary. When I got my laptop back, the fan inside whirs really loud and kicks on every 10 seconds and then fades back out. It also has a slight clicking sound, like when you put a playing card in your bike spokes. I had no issues with the fan before I sent it out and the sound is driving me nuts. Any suggestions? A promise ring and a purity ring are two different things. A purity ring is to signify you will wait for marriage and is given to you by your parents. A promise ring is given to you by your boyfriend and says that you and him are exclusive until the two of you decide to go your seperate ways or get engaged. A clatana is an irish friendship ring and or wedding ring. If you wear it with the heart pointing one way it means you are single...the other way taken. It isn't used as a chastity ring. You can get these rings at a jewelry store. Many have catalogs with more rings than are in the displays. There are also web sites with many beautiful chastity rings. You can tell your Mom that many teens find feeling and seeing the ring help remind them of the promise they made to themselves, their parents and sometimes God to wait until marriage. One word of caution...some people see these rings and consider it a challenge to seduce the virgin. I wish I could say this was rare.

Engine whirrs and clicks, but still won't start?

I have a 1999 Ford Escort that suddenly just stopped working. It won't start. When you turn the key, it whirrs and makes a clickity-clickity sound, like it's trying to start, but the engine won't actually start up. I've tried changing the spark plugs and the fuel filter (a friend of mine thought that might be the problem), but it's made no difference. Possible a vacuum hose has deteriorated over time. Get some brake cleaner and spray around your cacuum hoses and carburetor base. If the idle drops to normal briefly that particular spot is the culprit.

You may need to disable the on board graphics in the bios settings. You'll see a quick flash at start up that says something to the tune of "Press F2 for setup" you'll have to flip through the settings and look for a setting to dissable the on board graphics or set the graphics to only the PCI Express. Fixing a broken CD/DVD drive on my laptop?

yeah ur drive is gone pal sorry. What you should do is buy a new CD/DVD Drive. Pull out the Drive from your laptop and try to look at any stickers on it that will give you any information such as manufacturers (dell, lite-on, philips, samsung, toshiba, etc), look for the part number or model number (write it down), and lastly look at the back of the drive and determine if it is a SATA, or IDE drive. Look up pictures of both interfaces to make sure you know which one is which. The difference should be clear. Now with all your info look up the drive on ebay or an online store of your choice ( go for ebay theres bound to be some on there and also try to buy from top rated sellers on ebay if you are going to purchase from there). And there you are. Now a CD/DVD-ROM drive should not be too much because its only a read-only module. However like i said look up the part number to make sure you know what your looking for.

Is this normal for an AF Nikkor 70-300mm lens?

Last week I bought a used AF Nikkor 70-300mm 1:4-5.6G lens from Adorama. It arrived today, and while it seems to be in great condition with only a few cosmetic blemishes I've noticed that when adjusting the focus manually it makes a sort of whirring/grinding noise. I'm not talking about the noise the autofocus motor makes; I was expecting that to be louder than my AF-S kit lens. Is this typical operation for this lens, or should I send it back for a replacement?

Why does my wii make a whirring sound?

Every morning I use Purity face wash (I think its from QVC). Then, I use Benza Clin acne cream my doctor (not dermatologist) recommended because I have acne mainly in the t-zone. The cream is 5% benzoyl peroxide. Then I use Hope In A Jar moisturizer but it makes my skin look even greasier and shinnier then it already looks. So, if any of this is either not helping or making it worse please tell me. I want pretty skin that doesn't have acne, isn't oily, and doesn't get dry. I know it's a lot to ask but it has really made me feel insecure. I don't know if it matters but I am 13 and have had bad skin since I was about 11. Something that has been bothering me for a while?

Occasionally, when I'm falling sleep, or just walking out at night to take the trash out, I get some seriously HORRIFIC mental images in my head. Often about finding my loved ones murdered, or what not. When these images happen, I get TERRIFIED, and have to run back into my house for fear that these things might actually happen. I'm sixteen years old, and I do have a sort of dark history involving sexual abuse. So I was wondering if that's all connected, and how I can get these things to stop? I also get freakish nightmares, and I hate falling sleep because of it. The only thing that helps is if I have some sort of sound on when I'm going to sleep, be it the radio of the simple whir of the ceiling fan. I don't know what to do about this, and it's really freaking me out. Also - I have thoughts of suicide on occasion. I had a period that was four days long (first and last day were just light brownish white discharge, but the middle two days were light blood first then dark blood neither day had enough to fill a pad) it was three days late. I had unprotected sex june 9-16 and the period I had was june 17-20. My breasts were very sore before the period and I had cramps during it. So I thought that counted as a period even though usually my periods are very heavy and long. But now I'm having some very light cramping again and nausea. Also getting hot very easily and tired more. This is exactly how I felt last time I was pregnant. I took a test about an hour ago (its five thirty eight right now) after having peed ALOT and drank a lot of water and juice today so it may have been dilute. The control line was normal, but then on one side of it running perpendicular to it was little specks of ink in the shape of a line, but they weren't on the other side. Its like a three way intersection instead of a plus sign. It didn't look like the faint positive I had on the test with my first pregnancy, it was just specks of color that were as dark as the control line. I am not sure what this means and have to wait until I get paid to buy a new test. Should I even bother warning my boyfriend about this? Has anyone else had this and still wound up being pregnant? I am not sure about the first part, but I can answer the whirring sound. The little light under your on button is showing that the Hard Drive is in use. The whirring could either be your hard drive or it could be a cooling fan.

It really depends if you want to get paid for it. Poetry is highly subjective. One person can think it's terrible and another could think you're the next Sylvia Plath. Some magazines are selective while others are not. However, even if you're one of the best poets today you'll still probably not get paid well. CD/DVD Drive Keeps Trying To Load Disk But Fails?

I am using Vista and when I put in a disk, it makes a whirring sound to try a load it, but then it stops and starts again a second later and just keeps on doing this. How can I fix this problem?

Splinter Cell Double Agent disk is unreadable?

I play it for a while but then after a few days it says disk is unreadable. I lost all my data ( not the problem i dun think ) But i press single player, new game and when it is loading the iceland mission it makes a whirring sound, then it says, " This disk is unreadable." It has a few scratches but then i went to a store and repaired it. It still says that. Please HELP!!!!!!!!!!
