Why can't epson make a printer that will just turn off without whirring and clicking for 2 minutes first?

I've owned a lot of epsons, and they all end up in the bin because all they do is whirr and click and they don't stay working for more than a couple of months, and they come with stupid, stupid programs that you can't turn off. A bit like the printer itself. It's still whirring and clicking now.
