Black ops disk unreadable?

Si the other day I was playing black ops when my mom accidentaly bumped the xbox. It made a weird WHIRRING noise, and then went back to normal. Ever since then, I'vebeen lagging, controllers need reconnecting, and the black ops disk is unreadable. Is it the xnoxor black ops disk's fault? Also, will installing a friends' game to the hard drive solve this?
