Promises / purity rings?

A promise ring and a purity ring are two different things. A purity ring is to signify you will wait for marriage and is given to you by your parents. A promise ring is given to you by your boyfriend and says that you and him are exclusive until the two of you decide to go your seperate ways or get engaged. A clatana is an irish friendship ring and or wedding ring. If you wear it with the heart pointing one way it means you are single...the other way taken. It isn't used as a chastity ring. You can get these rings at a jewelry store. Many have catalogs with more rings than are in the displays. There are also web sites with many beautiful chastity rings. You can tell your Mom that many teens find feeling and seeing the ring help remind them of the promise they made to themselves, their parents and sometimes God to wait until marriage. One word of caution...some people see these rings and consider it a challenge to seduce the virgin. I wish I could say this was rare.
